Before and After at the Zoo

So this is really more of a 'before and close to the end' at the zoo...

Train ride and Antwerp Zoo

On Saturday we hopped on the train and went to the Antwerp Zoo.

Since there was a little time before the train left - we had to stop by a bakery. As you can clearly see.. Morgan is having no trouble adjusting to Belgian donuts!


Enjoying the view with Mama and Brenna. Luckily the way there it wasn't a crowded train so all three kids could change seats as much as they wanted to. On the way back there was a nice old lady sitting with Brett, Terrie and the kids.. at one point she had to ask whose kids were whose as she couldn't tell!


Morgan had a nice time riding in the backpack (thanks again Mo!) and even got a little nap in!

Some Morgan fun from the week

Ryan, Brenna, and Morgan snuggling in the wagon ready to go home and warm up after wearing themselves dancing at the Beerse Christmas tree bonfire. The town collected all the live Christmas trees and made a huge bonfire. There were booths set up with all kinds of tasty treats and drinks and of course music. It was such a fun time.




Morgan is having lots of fun with Ryan and Brenna. She likes following them everywhere and doing whatever they are doing. Ryan is very good with her and likes teaching her new things. The first day he had her trying to jump which she thought was hilarious.


Cheesy smile phase has begun. Everytime the camera comes out we get an enthusiastic CHEESE and fakey smile. Cute, but I miss the pretty one sometimes too.

Snack time!

Morgan and I took a stroll around Turnhout by the train station today and found the little place that I ate lunch at during our first visit.. Koffie & Croissant. They had a very good selection of chocoloate croissants... Morgan was an instant fan...

New Friend!

Morgan has some new friends here in Belgium... Brenna was reading Morgan a story tonight while Morgan was trying to smile at the camera while also reading the book!

Morgan is Enjoying Belgium

Aside from being a bit confused about when to sleep and when to be awake Morgan has been enjoying Belgium so far. We have gotten a chance to visit with Brett and Terrie and their two kits Ryan and Brenna and Morgan has adored playing with them. Ryan was trying to teach Morgan how to jump (she hasn't quite left the ground, but thinks its a hoot). It is wonderful having some great friends nearby and helping each other figure everything out.

This morning we ventured out to Turnhout's Saturday market. Here they have just about everything you could want...lots of clothes, purses, candies, chocolates, fruits, vegetables, and most importantly, coffee and waffles! Along the way all the shops were open and busy and it seemed like the whole town was out on this unseasonably cold day. Morgan devoured her vanilla waffle being careful not to drop a single bite (a few crumbs were unfortunately lost). It was so cold we Americans didn't hang around too long (I'm not sure where we packed her mittens and she wouldn't keep her hat on). Halfway home when she finished her waffle she quickly began asking for more, more, more. We're hanging in there:)

So long to our good friends

Our good friends Dani and Samantha came over last Tuesday for one last time before we left to enjoy some pizza and admire the contents of our house reduced to 91 boxes. The past few weeks have been a bittersweet mix of celebrations and goodbyes and hopes of fun times awaiting us. Little Samantha has been a great friend to Morgan since the day she came to see us in the hospital and was very sad to say goodbye. We love you two and miss you already!

We made it safely and sleepy to Belgium. Morgan flew to the best of her ability but had a rough time sleeping. No nap but finally fell asleep across the ocean around 7 or 8...its a bit of a blurr. We'll check back soon after we've slept and showered but according to my clock you all think its 4:30 am:) love you all!
