Jules'ke op bezoek

This week Morgan got to bring a special friend home from school for the night. Jules is the class doll. He gets to go home with the kids and when they bring him back with his scrapbook filled in the kids sit in a circle and talk about their visit with Jules. Morgan was so very proud to bring Jules home with her. Mommy was a little frantic about getting the project done, but in the end it was lots of fun for both of us. The whole night Morgan just wanted to hold his book and look through the pictures from her classmates.

I added a few extra pictures here, but this is Morgan's visit with Jules:

Morgan vond het leuk om naar de boek van Jules te kijken.

Pyjama aandoen, ik kan dat zelf. En ook tanden poetsen.

Een paar boekjes te lezen en nog een keer naar de fotos van de kindjes met Jules’ke.

Wij gaan slapen. Slaap wel Jules, slaap wel Morgan. Kom nog een keer op bezoek, Jules.

Somehow kitty and cupcake ended up in the hallway. Don't worry, I rescued them and they got to sleep in the big bed.

En nu terug naar school.

One last hug then back in the suitcase.

Little Teacher

Part of Morgan's night time routine has been sitting on the edge of her bed with a little notebook mimicking her teacher. She'll even do little things like lick her finger to turn the pages. Basically she says good morning to each of her friends, tells them she's writing their name down, invites them up to the piano and then moves on to the next kid. Sometimes she'll get mad at them for not listening (or that she can't hear...her Dutch is better than mine) and at one point she had the whole class out in the hallway. Remind you of anyone, Aunt Beth?

Back to School

We managed to get up and out the door on time this morning with a packed lunch and apple for a snack after our nice long vacation in which we barely got out the door before 10 on a good day. Halfway down the driveway I realized I'd forgotten to take a picture so I snapped this one with my little camera once we got to school.

Morgan is starting a full day pre-K this year so we've had to start packing a lunch. She stayed for the after school care today since Wednesdays are only half a day. I received a call from the office at 11:45 saying that I didn't come to pick up Morgan and her lunchbox was empty so was I going to come bring her some food. The week before when I went to sign her up for the day care they told me you don't have to sign up, but they just automatically take all the kids there who don't get picked up after school. I'm still not quite sure what happened to her sandwich other than she was so excited to put her lunch in her backpack this morning that she didn't ever want to finish her breakfast so she probably ate it with her snack. I guess tomorrow we pack more food!

And, maybe I'll have it together and get her a decent picture tomorrow, but how can you go wrong with crazy kitty, her helmet, and those goofy sunglasses?

Finger Painting

It’s been awhile since I’ve broken out the finger paints.  I think she has only used it once before when Jessie was here.  This time.. I told her she didn’t need to wash her hands after each stroke and boy did she have fun!

I am sure Jessie is smiling looking at these ;)

Baby Noah

Morgan is absolutely in love with baby Noah. We were waiting so long for Kristina and Adrian to finally bring their little one home and he is finally here. She has been asking to go see him quite often and just wants to hold him, kiss him, and feed him the whole time. This relationship is reminding me a bit of Morgan and her friend Samantha a few years back. Today, any time he would wake up a bit she would ask, "is he ready to play with me now?"

Playing soccer with Adrian. I'm not sure who had more fun.

Morgan's Long Ride

Morgan and I went on a little bike ride after work today while Daddy went to pick up a pizza. We ended up being out for a half hour so I thought it would be fun to see how far it actually was and turns out we rode over 2 miles.

The boat ride

Morgan was looking forward to the "boat ride" for weeks before the trip and asked us almost daily if it was time yet. She had an absolute blast and we couldn't have been happier enjoying the week with her exploring, relaxing, and playing. She had a different favorite part of each day until about midway in the trip when her answer always became ice cream. It was fun to see what it was that brought her the most joy every place we visited.

Morgan's favorite place in our room - the window.

Kissing in Sicily

The one nice thing they had for kids under 3 was "toy renting." It was nice to have something for her to look forward to in the room. She would pull all three of these out, turn them on, and started jamming every time we told her she could play toys.

Crete

Crete (you can tell she is wearing down a bit when she asks to take a nap on your head)

I'm not sure what she got all over her face and my glasses, but I think it was cookie.

And she's had enough. Couldn't even make it through security in the airport before crashing.
